Consult – Moxie Speech Services provides consultative services to parents who are seeking guidance for their child’s speech-language development. Information about milestones, help getting started with the public school system, and ideas for helping improve your child’s skills at home are examples of things we can assist you with.

Screening – If you are concerned about your child’s ability to communicate but are unsure if an evaluation is necessary, a screening of your child’s sound production, receptive language, and expressive language can be completed. Screenings typically lasts 20-30 minutes and the results are provided immediately.

Evaluations – A comprehensive evaluation is critical for children who show signs of a communication disorder. Standardized measures are used to evaluate your child’s abilities along with parent input and informal assessments. Areas of assessment typically include articulation, oral motor, voice, receptive language, expressive language, and social – pragmatic skills. Fluency (stuttering) may be evaluated as well. Evaluations last 1-2 hours and a full report is provided within two weeks.

Therapy – Therapy is provided based on your child’s needs. Sessions last 30-60 minutes, 1-2 times per week targeting specific communication weaknesses your child demonstrates. Caregiver training is also provided and home programs are often implemented. Therapy can be provided at the home, daycare, or preschool the child attends.
